Don Burnette Re-Elected as Mayor of Port Orange





Mayor Don Burnette has been elected for a third term with a strong win in the August 18th primary election.
Burnette took 54.76 percent of the vote with 7,181 votes. Sarah Jones, a political newcomer who has worked for other Port Orange campaigns, landed with 32.61 percent with 4,277 votes. A distant third was Derek LaMontagne with 12.63 percent of Tuesday’s votes.
